A superb night shot of Spring Hill captured around 1964. The camera is positioned at the top of the hill close to the canal bridge and is looking down towards Brookfields. Incredibly, only one of these buildings was standing in 2010, the survivor being the factory frontage to the right of the shot. Opposite, level with the telephone box, is the Guild public house. As in many other parts of Birmingham, grass verges occupy the sites of once'lively properties.
