An excellent view of the weir next to Meadow Road Bridge leading off the main Burton Bridge. An alternative view can be seen at DPI-8002. Note the 18th century three story building on the other side. This was was once used by Boddington's Brewery of Manchester. Later it was used by Everard's of Leicester at the end of the 19th century. For the first 30 years of the 20th century it was occupied by Orton and Spooner, manufacturers of fairground rides and amusements.
