DPI-1349 The ruins of the old Manor House at Elstow taken around 1912. Utilising materials from the old convent, the Jacobean mansion was built by Thomas Hillersdon. The property was the residence of the Hillersdon family. Of the ruins pictured here there was a porch, consisting of a round-headed doorway, flanked on each side by two Doric pilasters. Only the bases of the pilasters remained of an upper floor. The fish ponds of the Abbey were a short distance from the mansion. © Digital Photographic Images TECHNICAL DATA Date: c.1912 Source: Magic Lantern Slide Maximum Size: 3834x3652 Pixels Maximum File Size: 1.13 Mb Format: JPEG Note: above sample image is 188 x 125 pixels Enlargement is 400 x 265 pixels
