![]() This image is taken from a real photo postcard that was sent in
1905 and was probably posted not long after the Stourbridge Railway Smash of
April in that year. The locomotive and trucks have the livery of the Great
Western Railway. A gasometer can be seen in the background so the location is
the goods yard and offices at Holloway End which was just across the River Stour
in Amblecote, Staffordshire. Apartments have since been built
on the site of the Gas Works which was overlooked by the wall and railings of
Holy Trinity Church.
