![]() This simple-looking painted brick building was formerly the
Dolphin Inn. Forming part of the Earl of Pomfret's estate, in the early 1850's
it was run by David and Elizabeth Martin who also operated a butchery. Former
licensee of the
Crown Inn, Isaac Marlow was mine host in 1891. He kept the High
Street boozer with his wife Clara. In the Edwardian period the building was
owned Sir Thomas Fermor-Hesketh and occupied by Herbert Bailey. Other Images that may be of interest.... |
