Two men pose for the photographer with a small lorry belonging to the Mineral Water Manufacturing firm of James William Bright based in Duck Street at Rushden. Born in the Bedfordshire village of Haynes, James Bright had worked in the water industry for many years. After a period representing Oldham and Co., he had earlier traded in Church Street. An important employer in the town, he was involved in the municipal life of Rushden. Living in Washbrook Road with his wife Lena, he was a trustee of the Park Road Methodist Church, a position he held until his death in 1944.
