A photograph of the Unicorn Inn dating from around 1900. The Pearsall family were running the pub at this time. Birmingham-born James Pearsall had earlier worked as an engineer when living in Litchurch with his wife Elizabeth who hailed from Duffield. She took over the licence of the Unicorn Inn following her husband's death. The couple's son, Arthur, would eventually become the publican in charge. This is probably Arthur Pearsall pictured outside the pub with his two young sons along with their grandmother.
