First produced in September 1954, this is a Molineux Brown Ale beer label from the old Springfield Brewery of William Butler and Co. Ltd. in Wolverhampton. The company was founded in 1840 and registered in April 1891. The company was acquired by Mitchell's and Butler's in 1960. The Springfield Brewery was eventually closed around 1990.
