Located towards the 'top end' of Icknield Port Road, the Belle Vue Hotel [as it was known after being rebuilt] was a classic example of an inter-war public house with a frontage of splendid uniformity and clean lines. A real gem of the period. The entrances to the public bar and saloon bar were at the edge of the building whilst a central door acted as the outdoor for off sales.
Special Note: This image was created from a collection of postcard-sized photographs that were once used by a regional manager for Ansell's. Sadly, the postcards had suffered severe degradation from damp and I have worked hard to restore them. However, the maximum size I can offer is 1627x2304. You can make a good A4-sized print or 8"x6" photo from this but this is the maximum size I recommend. The image is rare and is priced to reflect the limitations outlined above.
