A view of North Bridge Street not long after the
Second World War. There is a jettied building on the left and just
past this is the White Hart. The pub on the corner in the centre of
the photograph is the Black Swan, an inn operated by the Bedford
brewery of Charles Wells. There is some activity on the lorries
parked outside Barclay's Bank. Next to this is the grocery firm of
W.B.Moss & Sons Ltd.
