A photograph of Luton's Carnegie Library not long after it had opened in 1910. A gift of American philanthropist Andrew Carnegie, it stood on the corner of George Street and Williamson Street until 1962. To lose this building was a sad loss if not a crime. And what would the steel magnate make of such an act?
