A photograph of Luton's Carnegie Library not long
after it had opened in 1910. A gift of American philanthropist
Andrew Carnegie, it stood on the corner of George Street and
Williamson Street until 1962. To lose this building was a sad loss
if not a crime. And what would the steel magnate make of such an
act?
